The Forint team is excited to share the news of a Dark Web ID product enhancement, released in October.
Our Dark Web Monitoring capability now displays non-sensitive PII (Personal Identifiable Information) values, when available. Therefore, customers who subscribe to our credential compromise monitoring service will receive alerts whenever a new compromise is discovered on the dark web.
Previously, if a compromise involved PII, our Dark Web Monitoring displayed how many PII items had been compromised and the PII types (for instance, “PII hit: 3, First Name, Last Name, Address”). Now, we display the actual non-sensitive PII values if they are available (for instance, John Smith, 345 Main Street, Canterbury, Kent). At this time, we will not populate this data retroactively for the compromises that have reported in the past, but we will display the non-sensitive PII values going forward.
Note that not all breaches involve exposed PII, so not each alert will contain these data points. This update is being introduced because of requests and feedback from our customers who want more information and context on the breach alerts.
This enhancement also provides the ability to validate if the exposed data is valid/actually belongs to their monitoring client. This capability further differentiates our award-winning Dark Web Monitoring service from most dark web monitoring providers.

This release is just the first phase of the PII data enhancement project. The Live Data Search enhancement for ad-hoc scans will be contained within a later release in December; we will announce it when it’s ready.
